RULES:
First and foremost, Shadow Jedi are in a trial period. For the time being, only members within the management staff are cleared to play them IC. This is so we can set solid guidelines for the Shadow path AND so you, the rp'er, can become comfortable with seeing how we will allow them to be played here in Naboo.
Once we allow everyone to play them, there will be a probationary period. This path will be strictly controlled as to discourage any abuse of the path. If you can not play a Shadow Jedi to the specific rules, it will be taken away and never given back.
Flip-flopping to and from this path will be strictly controlled as well.
Testing rules and guidelines for Jedi, Dark Jedi and Sith do not apply to the Shadow Jedi. And testing will be more difficult.
You must seek manager approval before playing a Shadow. Don't even start the SL without approval.
To get approved, you must have played and leveled at least one Master and one Knight/Warrior, a Jedi and Sith/Dark Jedi.
Once you are approved to play a Shadow Jedi, you can add a 7th Force Using Character slot to the already 6 that are allowed. If you choose at some point to play a second Shadow Jedi, then you will be allowed one more FU Character slot. Slots 7 & 8 are for Shadows only. Abuse this and they will be taken away.
No one will be allowed to play more than 2 Shadow Jedi per typist, at one time. Both require approval. You will be required to have tested and passed with your first Shadow Jedi before getting your 2nd.
There is NO BYPASS testing for ANY level of Shadow Jedi.
A Shadow can go light or dark. But characters that are already Dark Jedi, Sith or Jedi, can NOT go Shadow.
A Shadow Jedi/Unaffiliated force user focus only on balance, they may be swayed by their passions for justice (a true justice) but they do see the process in getting it in shades of gray, thus they are sometimes referred to as Grey Jedi. They do not kill for revenge, but because it will keep the balance of the force and the universe.
A Shadow must control their emotions very carefully, they have emotions and they know when to use them and when to be in control of them so they do not 'slip' into what one would call a 'light' or 'dark' siders.
Shadows see the force in shades of gray, it is not the force which is good or evil, but the heart of the heart of the user defines how one uses the force, thus, if one whom classes themselves as Shadow starts allowing their compassion for all lead them away from true justice (trying to save the life of a major threat/murderer, rather than do whatever must be done to stop their reign of terror eg : detain forcibly/maim/kill.) then they venture into the realm of Jedi. If they believe in killing ALL dark siders (threat or not) or act out of pure, unadulterated vengeance they verge into the dark side. Though, a shadow can have both compassion and vengeance within them, it is always weighed against a logic of 'will this bring balance, rightness and justice to the universe'.
In the pursuit of Justice, a Shadow Jedi may work with Dark Jedi, Sith or Jedi, if the goals of the other class fits their goal... but they will never be 'loyal' to a side. Shadow Jedi are loyal only to the balance of the force and justice.
In the pursuit of Justice, a shadow will not be swayed by family bonds... despite the pain it may bring them, if their family member is a danger to all, upsets the balance of the force and needs to be brought to justice, despite the pain it will bring them emotionally, they will stop their kin.
